Biophysics
The doctoral students of biophysics and medical physics are involved, inter alia, in the following externally funded research projects:
- Protein and nucleotide nanolayers for biosensor application;
- Effects of man-made organic surfaces on protein and cell behavior;
- AFS in the studies of cell adhesion and protein-drug bonds;
- Structural, compositional, and mechanical properties of human endothelium cells;
- MRI of lungs using hyperpolarized gases;
- Biophotonics: tags, biomarkers, sensors and sensitizers;
- New materials in photodynamic therapy;
- Radiation effects in biological structures;
- MEG (magneto-encephalography) applications;
- Molecular and nanoparticle dynamics in biological systems;
- Molecular mechanisms of extreme conditions tolerance of extremophiles;
- DNA-based optoelectronics;
- Computational Biosciences and Bioinformatics;
- Properties of Langmuir monolayers.
