Requirements:
- The candidate must have the official status of a PhD student
- Master’s degree in physics or mathematics
- Experience in at least one of the following domains: functional analysis, spacetime geometry, quantum information, quantum foundations, quantum field theory
- Experience in Mathematica and numerical simulations is welcome
- Very good oral and written communication skills in English.
Project description:
- Research within the NCN Sonata BIS project “Beyond Quantum Gravity - principles, structures and phenomena”. A brief project description can be found below
- New research team lead by dr hab. Michał Eckstein with an ongoing collaboration in Gdańsk, Oxford, Stockholm and Waterloo (Canada)
Job conditions:
- A monthly net scholarship of 2’000 PLN is paid on top of the scholarship from the Doctoral School
- The scholarship is granted for one year starting on 1 October 2024 and can be extended up to 4 years
- Travel budget of 12’000 PLN/year for conferences and scientific visits
- Personal laptop with an external monitor
Required documents:
- Academic CV including: information on education and scientific activities, grades transcript, list of publications, presentations at conferences and seminars
- Documents confirming the status of the PhD student and Master’s degree
- Motivation letter explaining the Candidate’s interest in this project
- At least one recommendation letter
- Statement with information on the processing of personal data along with consent to their processing (document in Polish, can be downloaded below)
