Prof. Mairi Sakellariadou: Exploring the Universe

Understanding the Universe is one of the greatest mysteries that science holds, CosmoVerse is a global network of researchers working to unravel the deepest questions about the underlying nature of the cosmos. At this turning point in our understanding of the Universe, we find ourselves asking fundamental questions about dark energy, the expansion of the Universe, and our understanding of how it works. Join us in this exciting journal through our shared cosmic past!

Join us for an open lecture, Exploring the Universe, to be given by Prof. Mairi Sakellariadou on July 11 at 7:15 PM.

Professor Mairi Sakellariadou has held research positions at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Université de Tours, Université Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris VI), Universität Zürich, Université de Genève, and CERN.

She was Associate Professor at the University of Athens, before joining King’s College London in 2005 as a reader. She was appointed Professor of Theoretical Physics in 2011.

Professor Mairi Sakellariadou's field of research is theoretical physics and cosmology, with emphasis on the physics of the early universe. Her research stands at the interface between cosmology, theoretical particle physics and gravitational theories, testing the most advanced theories against the plethora of astrophysical, cosmological and high energy physics data.
