Competition for the position of an Assistant Professor in the research staff member group of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science
Requirements
The selection procedure is open for all individuals, who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.3) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 165 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:
- holding at least a doctoral degree;
- having relevant scientific achievements;
- taking active part in scientific life.
Additional requirements and expectations
The candidate should:
- have a PhD in physics or computer science or related sciences;
- take an active part in scientific life, manifested in particular in presentations at international conferences;
- have experience in international academic cooperation with leading research centers,
- be able to actively cooperate with other members of the research group,
- have experience in working with numerical programs (C++ or Python),
- have fluency in spoken and written English. Experience in software development for high energy physics, including Monte Carlo case generators will be an added advantage.
