Job offer for student in NCN-funded project "Spontaneous disruption of small Solar System bodies"

Job offer – research in Michał Drahus’s group as co-investigator of an NCN-funded project Spontaneous disruption of small Solar System bodies (SONATA BIS 6 grant no. 2016/22/E/ST9/00109).

A successful candidate will analyze images collected by the SWAN instrument on the SOHO spacecraft in search of interstellar objects 1I/‘Oumuamua and 2I/Borisov, and interpret the results using a simple model. (Note that the original research plan of the project has been updated by PI to include research on interstellar objects.)

Remuneration: The new group member will receive a tax-free stipend of 3000 PLN per month over 6 months. The stipend will be paid from the project budget and can be combined with other sources of income in accordance with the NCN rules (in Polish). In particular, it can be received jointly with a university-funded scholarship, unless separate rules state otherwise. The Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków imposes no restrictions in this regard.
