Feast Day of Jagiellonian University

On the 12th of May Jagiellonian University celebrates the Feast Day commemorating its foundation by king Casimir the Great in 1364.

Celebrations will commence on Friday, May 10 at 9.00 am in Wawel Cathedral, where the wraths and flowers will be placed at the tombs of the Founders of our University – Casimir the Great, Queen Jadwiga and Władysław Jagiełło. Next, at 11.00 am, in the Collegium Novum Assembly Hall, a solemn meeting of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University will take place, during which professor Mario Suwalsky will receive the “Merentibus” medal. 

The Feast will end with a concert of the Song and Dance Ensemble of Jagiellonian University “Słowianki”, Academic Choir of Jagiellonian University “Camerata Jagiellonica” and the chamber orchestra “All In Orchestra”, which will be held at 7.00 pm in the courtyard of Collegium Maius.
