5th edition of Nationwide Astronomy Contest „Astrolabium”

The Nationwide Astronomy Contest “Astrolabium” is organized for the fifth time by Krakow Astronomical Observatory of the Jagiellonian University and partner organizations.

The goal of the contest is to promote exact science, in particular astronomy and space research among students of primary, secondary and high schools. We hope that participation in the contest will allow the youth to enrich their knowledge of astronomy and will make an impact on the development of their passion for science.

„Astrolabium” contest is composed of two stages: development of experiments and a test of knowledge carried out in submitted schools. Tasks are designed for four age groups: grades 1-3 of elementary school,  grades 4-6 of elementary school, grades 7-8 of elementary school with 3 grade of middle school and high school students. All materials have been adapted to the abilities and skills of given age groups. In the previous edition 710 students from 124 schools from all over Poland took part in the contest.

This year’s contest experiments are already available at www.astrolabium.org. Registration of participants is open until 31st March. The test will be held on 29th April. We cordially invite you to try yourself in astronomical struggles!
