Legal Basis

Pursuant to §§ 179 and 180 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University, appointment to the position of Assistant Professor (Adiunkt) may take place:

1. through an open competition announced by the Institutes of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science (FAIS), or through the internal promotion procedure, conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Statute and the document attached below entitled "Criteria and Procedure for Internal Promotion to the Position of University Professor at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University";
2. the internal promotion procedure is initiated by the Rector upon the request of the Dean;
3. the provisions of § 176 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University governing the competition procedure apply, mutatis mutandis, to the internal promotion procedure;
4. the internal promotion procedure is conducted by the Faculty Promotion Committee;
5. promotion to a higher academic position through the internal promotion procedure requires that the candidate meet the qualification criteria specified in the Statute of the Jagiellonian University and further detailed in the document attached below.

Applications for promotion are considered once per year and must be submitted to the Dean by 15 May.
