Small, big world - Dorota Chomko

Along with the opening of the new premises of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science on the 10th of December 2015 an interesting accompanying event took place: in the rooms of the Faculty Library an exhibition of paintings and drawings entitled ‘Small, big world' was opened. The author of the exhibited works is a well-known Cracovian artist – Dorota Chomko, who most willingly paints landscapes and portraits using various painting (oil, acrylic paint, watercolour, pastel) and drawing techniques (charcoal, crayon, pencil, pen). The exhibition arrangement was done by Maria Pawłowska, Jadwiga Wichman and Katarzyna Żyrek from the Faculty Library, the commemorative folder and poster was designed by Nikodem Frodyma, and the technical aid was provided by Leszek Kuc. Organisation of yet another exhibition on the new premises of the Faculty Library was an occasion to show that modern libraries, including our Faculty Library, are important centres of social life, seeing as they become modern centres for access to not only knowledge, but also culture.
