Final of the 7th edition of the National Competition “Chain Experiment”

Last Saturday (June 1, 2019) the final of the 7th edition of the National Competition „Chain Experiment” took place at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science.

Over 100 teams from all over Poland came to Kraków to present to the public and jury complex devices they have been working on for the last moths. All devices were connected into a chain and consequently started in order to transport a metal ball.

The event was accompanied by physics experiments demonstrations and attractions for the youngest.

Winners

Category: 1-3 grades of primary school and kindergartens
Jury composed of:  dr Maciej Michalik, mgr Aleksandra Radko, dr hab. Sebastian Szybka

The main prize went to the team of T.Halik Non-public School in Reda, for the device “Sea Adventure”.
Special mention was awarded to the team of Żołnierzy Września 1939 Primary School in Majdan Główny for the device “A Clever Ball”.

Category: 4-6 grades of primary school
Jury composed of: dr Renata Gargula, dr hab. Bartosz Such, dr hab. Zenon Rajfur,

The main prize went to the team of Primary School no. 9 in Gliwice for the device “Kuleczkowo”.
Special mention was awarded to:
- the team of Jan III Sobieski Primary School no. 9 in Gliwice for device “Secret island”
- the team of  School and Pre-School Complex in Wolbrom for the device “Ikaria”.

Category: 7-8 grades of primary school and junior high schools
Jury composed of: dr hab. Marta Targosz-Korecka, dr Michał Silarski, dr hab. Adam Rycerz,
dr hab. Andrzej Wereszczyński, prof. UJ, dr Aleksandra Wrońska, dr inż. Marcin Zieliński.

The main prizes were awarded to:
-the team of J.Nowina-Konopka Primary School in Mogilany for the device „Where are you running?”
- the team of Primary School in Koszęcin for the device “Space adventure”
- the team of Non-public Primary School SKRZYDŁA in Lublin for the device “Neon massacre”
- the team of Primary School in Kościelec for the device “Bingo”
Special mentions were awarded to:
- the team of Maria Konopnicka Primary School in Tarnawa Dolna for the device „Tarnawa cell”
- the team of School Complex in Wolbrom for the device „Wolbrom can into space”
- the team of Juliusz Słowacki Primary School with Integration Units no. 10 in Gliwice for the device „Superball”
- the team of W.Szafer Primary School with Integration Units no. 162 in Kraków for the device “Dragonfly”

Category: high school and students
Jury composed of: dr hab. Paweł Góra, prof. UJ, mgr Paweł Dąbczyński

Main prizes were awarded to:
- the team of A.Mickiewicz High School no. 2 in Skarżysko-Kamienna for the device “Vivaldi’s Vehicle”
- the team of Communication Schools Complex in Kraków for the device “TSM”
Special mention was awarded to the team for the device “It works”

Category: Family 
Jury composed of: dr Maciej Michalik, mgr Aleksandra Radko, dr hab. Sebastian Szybka

The main prize was awarded to the team of Mr and Mrs Czopek for the device „Wędrowiec”.
Special mentions were awarded to:
- the team of Mrs Monika Durda-Jastrzebska for the device „Corporalis apparatus”
- the team of Mr Przemysław Lachowicz for the device “Theory of the ring”

The Audience Award went to the team of John Paul II Primary School in Stróżówka for the device “Kulkolot.
